The Interview — Dianne Saxe, Former Environment Commissioner of Ontario

Dianne Saxe discusses her legal career, her work as Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, her experience at the climate conference in Paris, and what she plans to do next. An environmental lawyer for nearly 40 years, Dianne is considered amongst the best and most accomplished environmental lawyers in the world.

She served as Environment Commissioner of Ontario from 2015 until she was ousted by Ontario Premier Doug Ford, shortly after he was elected. Having her office abolished on April 1st, 2019. As environment commissioner, her responsibilities included preparing nonpartisan reports and recommendations to the legislative assembly on Environmental issues—including how they relate to energy in the province.
