Calgary-based energy company Suncor plans to drop wind and solar assets

Suncor is divesting its solar and wind assets, focusing instead on hydrogen and renewable fuels.

The Calgary-based company’s decision to ditch its renewable assets spells the end of a two-decade foray.

The company’s president and chief executive, Mark Little, said in a statement that doing so would drive shareholder returns.

That it’ll also help the company meet its emissions reduction targets, including bringing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.
