As a Business Development Director, you will support the VP of Engineering by providing growth strategies and financial planning to cultivate work in the areas of alternate fuels, with a priority on hydrogen production, decarbonization, and carbon capture. The individual will have a proven track record of increasing market share in the Canadian market, performing financial market assessment and forecasting, and being known throughout the market.

Responsibilities:

Create opportunities for business development and implement a multi-year growth strategy
Develop relationships with public and private clients, power, and energy industries, from inception through contract award and implementation
Leverage an existing network of contacts in the alternative fuels and carbon capture areas to introduce and set up contacts to increase awareness of the organization’s capabilities and how they can service new clients
Knowledge of upcoming energy transformation opportunities and an understanding of local regulatory procedures
Knowledge of the financial, technical, and political aspects driving both energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, smart energy and utility industries, and energy infrastructure development
Present new services and enhance existing relationships, to increase available work in the business
Attend industry functions, identify opportunities for campaigns, and services, that will lead to an increase in business
Participate in bid management from evaluation through to submission.
Participate in the project life cycle, project management, and engineering coordination of ongoing and upcoming work
Minimum Requirements:
4-year degree in Engineering
10+ years of experience in an Engineering and Commercial environment

Qualifications:

Registered Professional Engineer
Master’s in Business Administration
Proven expertise in business development and market strategy development/execution
Ability to collaborate and manage projects across disciplines and business lines for integrated delivery and growth
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated team-building ability and internal/external networking skills
Expertise in representing the Company in Bid Meetings, Submission of Quotations & Tender Bids
Solid understanding of the “local” energy market, policies, and players
