Ontario — Enbridge Sustain and SEAN announced the development of a new 73-unit townhome and condo community in Barrie, Ontario.
The community will feature geothermal heating and cooling systems designed, built, and operated by Enbridge.
It’ll also feature other eco-friendly features such as solar shading devices, biophilic balconies, and SmartONE home systems.
Enbridge Sustain will manage the end-to-end delivery of low-carbon energy projects at no upfront cost, working with trusted partners to ensure seamless integration into the development process.
SEAN says it’s committed to providing customers with affordable, comfortable homes with lower carbon footprints, and Enbridge Sustain helps make this possible.
The development supports federal and provincial governments’ emission reduction strategies and municipal energy plans encouraging developers to reach net zero in new communities.
“This incredible partnership with Enbridge Sustain and SEAN is great news for Barrie,” said Andrea Khanjin, MPP for Barrie-Innisfil. “It will bring 73 Certified and labelled net-zero ready townhouses and condo units to our community, which not only reduces the homeowners’ carbon footprint and energy bills, but it will also increase the air quality.”
