LA startup Thor Trucks has unveiled its own electric semi, ET1.

As Bloomberg notes the vehicle, designed for short hauls, sounds great: it should travel 300 miles on a charge, pull 80,000 pounds, and cost $150,000—all about the same as Tesla’s short-range semi.

Thor says it will start selling trucks in 2019 (ditto Tesla).

Reduced environmental impact is the obvious benefit, but the same worry we’ve raised about other electric trucks applies here: namely, we’re not convinced by the economics.
