SEENEWS Renewables | DIANA HRISTOVA —
Mexican photovoltaic (PV) modules maker Iusasol will invest USD 750 million (EUR 671.5m) to develop 400 MW for the wholesale power market in the next two years, CEO Antonio Lopez has told local daily El Economista.
The company has 800 ha (1,977 acres) at its disposal for the planned 400 MW and is already installing a 20-MW PV system for own supply at its factory in the state of Mexico.
Last year Iusasol opened its 500-MW PV module factory to pursue opportunities resulting from the energy reform. Lopez said the company is keen to sell clean energy certificates, depending on the rules to be set by the government.
Other opportunities in the Mexican PV market are seen in small-scale installations and distributed generation.
