OAKLAND, Calif., and STAMFORD, Conn. — Viridian Energy has entered into a new partnership to offer co-branded residential solar electricity through Viridian’s network of 20,000+ Independent Associates.
As evidence of both partners’ deep commitment to greening the grid, Viridian will donate one solar power system to a household in need for every 15 new residential solar installations. Donations from Viridian, through its new Sun Plus One program, will also enable women in developing nations to train as solar engineers and install solar panels in their own off-grid villages.
“Our two companies recognize the importance of providing an exceptional customer experience in bringing clean energy to the masses,” said Andrew Birch, Sungevity’s Chief Executive Officer. “Equipping Viridian’s passionate network of eco-minded entrepreneurs with our market-leading platform will accelerate efforts to improve our local and global communities, while making clean energy a reality for a broader range of American homeowners.”
“Viridian is thrilled to partner with a company that shares our vision to change the way people consume and buy energy, in order to ensure a better future,” said Michael Fallquist, Founder and CEO of Viridian Energy. “In Sungevity, we’ve found the right strategic partner with optimal platform capabilities to take our solar business to the next level, and offer the most exceptional customer experience in the industry.”
Among the top three solar installers in the U.S. (according to GTM Research U.S. PV Leaderboard, Q1 2015), Sungevity’s technology-enabled solar sales and installation process has resulted in industry-leading customer satisfaction scores and equally high customer referral rates. An integrated Sungevity-Viridian team will provide custom solar quotes without an initial home visit and also provide visibility into each homeowner’s potential energy savings. In addition, dedicated, seasoned solar experts will be available seven days a week to answer customer questions and proactively manage each installation through to completion.
The co-branded solar offering will initially be marketed in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York with plans to open additional solar markets throughout 2015 and beyond.
With this latest partnership focused on holistic energy solutions, Viridian Energy joins the broad range of companies and organizations currently working with Sungevity to scale solar adoption internationally, including: The Sierra Club, the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization; the University of California, Berkeley, the world’s premier public university; E.ON, a major investor-owned energy supplier; and Lowe’s, a FORTUNE® 50 home improvement company, among many others.
