Conergy to build 18-MWp solar plant for Monte Solar Energy

Conergy Asia & Middle East — Conergy, a leading German photovoltaic (PV) solution and service provider, was recently awarded a new contract by Monte Solar Energy Inc. a joint venture between Ayala Corp.’s AC Energy Holdings Inc. and Bronzeoak Philippines Inc. to build an 18-megawatt (MWp) solar power plant in Bais, Negros Oriental.

“MonteSol is the latest in Bronzeoak’s development portfolio of 202MW of solar projects now in operation or under construction. The Philippines is fast catching up with some of its ASEAN neighbors like Thailand in recognizing the benefits of powering the country with clean and reliable renewable energy. With over 110 MWp of solar installations now connected to the grid and another 2.5 GW of solar projects planned, the adoption of solar energy in the country has gone mainstream.

Conergy will be responsible for the engineering and design, component procurement, and project management of the new plant. This solar farm is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of next year.

Conergy also designed and built the 45-MW San Carlos Solar plant, the country’s first solar farm that went online last year.
