Google LLC is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, which include online advertising technologies, search engine, cloud computing, software, and hardware. It is considered one of the Big Four technology companies, along with Amazon, Apple and Facebook.
NV Energy has asked Nevada regulators for authority to procure 350 MW of solar generation and up to 280 MW of energy storage to serve a planned Google data center in Henderson.
The agreement with NV Energy is one of the largest corporate solar purchases in the United States and analysts say the storage component is particularly interesting, due to its rarity.
The solar generation could be new construction or supplied by smaller projects in NV Energy’s portfolio.
