Chinese solar mounting systems maker Powerway Renewable Energy Co Ltd said today its 1-GW manufacturing facility for C-type steel and ground screw foundations in Tianjin city has officially commenced operations.

Construction of the plant, located in the Jinghai Development Area, lasted six months. The new factory will not only boost the company’s production capabilities, but will also result in higher efficiency, better quality and lower costs due to its strategic geographic location, CEO Benson Wu commented.

In 2014, the firm supplied its photovoltaic (PV) equipment and provided construction services to customers in more than 27 countries worldwide, including China, Japan, Pakistan, South Africa, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Algeria, Chile and Suriname, Wu added.

The CEO also mentioned he expects even stronger demand in view of projections for a continued growth in global PV solar energy development.
