WEST SACRAMENTO, Ca | PROINSO —
Proinso, supplied 3MW of SMA Sunny Tri Power 24kW Inverters for Honduras’ largest rooftop solar system commissioned last month.

The 3MW rooftop installation is the largest solar PV rooftop project in both Honduras and Latin America to date.

Located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras the 3MW rooftop project covers an area of 366,000ft² and sits on top the leading PepsiCo Bottling Plant in the region, EMSULA (Embotelladora de Sula S.A.). The facility bottles soft drinks, juices and purified water and will offset 20% of its energy use. The plant is expected to generate approximately 4,252.4 MWh /year, the equivalent of planting 4.7 million trees. EMSULA added the PV installation to improve the overall energy cost and management of the facility in addition to making a conscious effort to fulfill social and corporate responsibilities.

The industry leading project for the region was developed and constructed by SmartSolar of Honduras. SmartSolar is a leading EPC of photovoltaic projects for residential, commercial, and industrial market segments in Latin America, The material supplied by PROINSO included 105 SMA Sunny Tri Powers was delivered by PROINSO USA, the subsidiary based in West Sacramento, California. The SmartSolar partnership and installation helps PROINSO strengthen its presence in Latin America.
