Yerevan | ARKA News Agency — A photovoltaic (PV) power plant with an installed capacity of 30 megawatts will be constructed in Armenia by 2016.

Currently, the country’s Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant accounts for about 30% of the energy generation.

41.9% from heat power plants, and hydro accounts for 29.2% of the remaining power production. Small hydro power plants are the most promising for the country’s energy sector.

There are also windmills in Armenia, and efforts are being made to generate geothermal energy.

Windmills also account for 0.03% of the power generation.
