Saskatchewan — Sundial Energy Group, one of the largest solar providers in Western Canada, and CO-OP, one of the largest providers of retail goods and agricultural inputs, announce an exclusive partnership to provide turnkey solar power solutions to Cooperative Retail System (CRS) consumers.

Retailers at last week’s annual Fall Buymart shared excitement and enthusiasm for the new solar power program set to launch in spring 2020 and are already reserving their in-store displays.

CRS consumers will now have the option to access solar power solutions through their local Home or Ag Center.

“The expertise required to design, quote and install a solar power system is beyond the scope of retail associates,” said Mike Yantz, Category Manager at FCL. “Partnering with a solar provider that can offer the expertise directly to the consumer was paramount in choosing Sundial Energy Group as a partner.”

CO-OP also provides its members with a variety of goods and services to more than 1500 locations in 500 communities across Western Canada.

“For 90 years the CO-OP has been standardizing industries and supporting communities in Western Canada,” said Paulo Pique, Chief Executive Officer at Sundial Energy Group. “Partnering with FCL and the CRS fits with Sundial’s core values”.

“By offering complementary and innovative options to the products and services already provided by retail Co-ops, we are confident that this partnership will help improve the overall customer experience, strengthen the renewable energy industry and speak to the vision of building sustainable communities together,” adds Mr. Pique.

This exclusive partnership expands Sundial Energy Group’s market reach across Western Canada, while also supporting FCL and the CRS’s efforts to lead the retail sector by providing a sustainable energy solution to CRS consumers.

About CO-OP
The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) began in 1928 when locally owned retail co-operatives worked together to form provincial wholesales in order to expand their buying power. These co-operative wholesales in the four western provinces, along with the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC), in Regina, joined together to form Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). Today, approximately 200 retail co-operatives own FCL. Retail co-operatives serve more than 500 communities and more than 1.8 million active co-op members across Western Canada.
